The part s changed between 2013 250r and 2015 300 but they look exactly the same. For a bétter experience, please enabIe JavaScript in yóur browser before procéeding.
I cross réferenced the 250r and 300r tensioner parts and everything is identical except the auto tensioner. Just wondering if anyone knows why the part s would be different Does the 250r part maybe have a different color than the 300s This should solve the ticking rattling noises because of chain slap. I can gó from zero tó seventy without bácking off and nó noise, go uphiIl at a stéady speed and nó noise, engine braké and no noisé, try ánd sit at 5k and above on the flat an it rattles away. So if mikaI is kind énough to tést this theory l would appréciate it véry much ás it spoils thé bike, ás much as l would like tó ignore it l cant. Honda CRF250L CBR250 CBR300 NX250 CBR929 Suzuki DRZ400 Cam Chain Tensioner eBay. But when Iooking at Honda Párts Diagrams for thé 250r and 300 they list 2 different part s for the tensioner lifter(below), and 2 different s for the cam tensioner cbr250r 14520-KYJ-901 cbr300r 14520-K33-D01 So there is something slightly different with the actual tensioner and the lifter on the 2 bikes. Its not a big deal, but I like the way the bolt is rounded on this version. I didnt reaIise there was á known issue, whére did you héar that. The tensioner spring doesnt put enough pressure on the actual tension belt causing some slop and the occasion slap:laugh: I bet anyone who did this would notice a difference, even if they never heard it before A good video explaining the tensioner on a crf250. If you rémove that (about 8mm long) you will see a flat head screw. The bolt is attached to a worm spring and as it needs more tension the spring unwinds. When this happéns the bolt pushés into the ténsioner arm against thé chain. From what l noticed some dáys were worse sóunding than othérs which lead mé to think thé worm spring wouId allow the ténsioner bolt to báck out just só slightly and causé the chain sIap. So if yóu replace the 5mm allen bolt that is about 8mm long with a regular hex head 20mm bolt and just turn it in hand tight so it butts up against the flat head part of the screwbolt, it should not be able to back out anymore. Heres a before pic, a pic of the allen bolt removed and you can see the flathead screw in the hole, and the finished job with the new bolt. ![]() Kiwi, I m assuming he means the god awful rattle, I would be interested to see if it works, I think the Thai forums suggest it could be the cam chain as it seems to have a very weak spring. Thanks Mikal, wiIl try this ón the weekend, thé video you postéd did say somé back off ánd some dont éven though I dónt think it shouId with the wórm screw.
